General Ledger Tips
The CAMS-ii version 3.4.0 release included many changes to the G/L. With those changes, we have noted the following three tips:
+ When you are trying to post in the G/L, you may receive a message that you cannot post at that time. To reset the activity locks to clear this:
1. Confirm that no one else in the credit union is posting anything.
2. Go to Back Office > Standard > Utilities > Reset Activity Locks.
3. Select the check boxes next to the activity you want to stop.
4. Click Accept.
+ The G/L General Journals Transaction page was limited to only 10 entries by CAMS-ii Release 3.4.0. To increase the minimum number of entries available to you:
1. Go to Back Office > Standard > Parameters > CAMS-ii System Properties. The CAMS-ii Properties screen appears.
2. Scroll to the Ranges category
3. Click the numbers_drop-down_qty property name. A CAMS-ii System Properties screen appears for that property.
4. In the Property Value text box, type the number of entries that you want from drop-down lists.
5. Click Accept.
+ Whenever you are accessing a screen in the General Ledger and have not completed an action (click Accept), ALWAYS use Cancel to move to another screen.
Upgrading Microsoft® Internet Explorer®
When you upgrade your Microsoft Internet Explorer version or your workstation or receive a new workstation, you must ensure that it is configured correctly to operate in the CAMS-ii environment.
You will generally notice that the Internet Explorer is not configured correctly after an upgrade or when you receive an new workstation because you can no longer perform file transfers to and from the CAMS-ii server, and/or you receive messages that asking whether to accept a link or web screen because it has an ActiveX® component.
The CAMS-ii Help contains a document that you should print and read that can help you configure your Internet Explorer browser after you upgrade it. It can be found in the CAMS-ii Help at CAMS-ii How-To's > Back Office > Configuring Internet Explorer for CAMS-ii Workstations.
The "Configuring Internet Explorer for CAMS-ii Workstations" topic has links to a document for Internet Explorer version 6 and another document for Internet Explorer version 7 and 8.
Click the appropriate link for the Internet Explorer version running on your workstation and print the document using the printer icon on the PDF document's toolbar.
