Important: HMDA ULI and CAMS-ii

The creation of the Universal Loan Identifier (ULI) becomes a HMDA requirement beginning in 2018. Creating an ULI requires that you know your credit union’s Legal Entity Identifier (LEI).

For more information about Legal Entity Identifier (LEI), here are some places to start:

CAMS-ii will have a way to create an unique ULI for first mortgage, home equity, and
home equity line of credit loans based on your credit union’s Legal Entity Identifier (LEI).

Credit unions relying on third parties to create an ULI will have the opportunity to edit/insert that information in the Loan Record in CAMS-ii.

Enhanced demographic information for HMDA will be available in CAMS-ii beginning January 1, 2018. The applicable demographic information will be available in CAMS-ii Data Miner.

For more information on your credit union’s responsibilities for LEIs, ULIs, and HMDA, consult your credit union’s compliance officer, your credit union league, and/or NCUA. CBS does not provide compliance advice or direction.
