Using the CBS Issue Tracking System

We have been noticing that some are entering personal information — account numbers, member names, card #s, and so forth — in the Summary section of the CBS Issue Tracking System.

Please be aware that the information in the Summary section appears in automated, unsecured emails that the CBS Issue Tracking System creates to alert you about responses and other information about your inquiries to the CBS Support Center.

Unsecured email is not protected from those that seek to steal personal information about you and your members.

Use only the Description section to enter personal or sensitive information and other pertinent information about the issue (how, what, when, and where).

Use the Summary section much like the Subject section of an email: a simple title of the inquiry like "ACH ID Problem" or "Internet Branch Failure."

You may see that personal or sensitive information has been cut from the Summary section with a note like [See Description]. This is an indicator that you might have entered personal or sensitive information in the Summary section.

The CAMS-ii HELP has a section on using the CBS Issue Tracking System in the CAMS-ii How-To's > D thru H > Help/Issue Tracking/CBS Message Center.

Thank you.
