Changes to Internet Branching eDocument Registration
This change, which takes effect soon, allows credit unions licensed for Internet Branching and eDocuments to comply with the consent provisions in the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-Sign).
E-Sign stipulates that members must give their consent electronically to send them electronic versions of documents, (statements, notices, tax forms, etc) in a manner that “reasonably demonstrates†that they can access the e-documents in the electronic format to be used.
For CAMS-ii Internet Branching, eDocument Terms and Conditions appear containing a randomly generated verification code that the member must enter in the eDocument acceptance screen to enroll for eDocuments. Because the member must read the eDocument Terms and Conditions to enter the proper verification code, the credit union complies with this part of the E-Sign Act.
