Important: NSF Fees for One-Time vs. Recurring Transactions
For those credit unions using ATM/Debit Cards ...
Regulation E calls for members to Opt-In for NSF charges for one-time debit card transactions, but recurring debit card transactions do not require an Opt-In.
We have modified CAMS-ii to separate one-time debit card transactions from recurring transactions based on the EFT vendors' (ATM/Debit Card vendor) specifications. Although CAMS-ii cannot separate the transactions unless the you have asked your EFT vendor to activate that code.
IMPORTANT: CBS strongly urges you to contact your EFT vendor to ensure that the transaction file has the code to distinguish one-time from recurring debit card transactions.
Note: CAMS-ii always applies NSF charges to a recurring debit, if needed; otherwise, for one-time debits, CAMS-ii follows the Opt-In selections on Personal Data and/or Draft record.
