Passwords Required on PDF Documents

Some credit unions have reported that Forms or Receipts prompt for a password. We believe that this may be caused by Adobe Reader DC and a recent update that Adobe has released.

To fix this situation, you must first uninstall Adobe Reader DC:

In Microsoft® Windows® 10 Go to Settings -> Apps & features -> Adobe Reader DC icon -> Uninstall.

Once you have uninstalled Adobe Reader DC:

  1. Click on this link to download and install Adobe Reader XI from the Adobe Reader download site:
  2. ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.00/en_US/AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi

  3. Once you have saved, AdbeRdr11000_en_US, go to the folder where you saved it.
  4. Double-click the AdbeRdr11000_en_US file.
  5. Choose the default installation.
